QD-OLED Reaches Colour Critical Broadcast Monitoring

A.B.I.S. 2026, the show formerly known as Broadcast India, ran 22-24 October at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, and its most quietly significant launch was a monitor. EIZO introduced the ColorEdge CG3200X, the first OLED model in a reference family that has been LCD for two decades: a QD-OLED panel aimed at colourists, editors and cinematographers, with the HDR performance and built-in colour management the ColorEdge line is certified for. The CG2400SV and CG1 completed the company's monitoring range for broadcast, grading and mastering work.

Why this matters beyond one SKU: reference monitoring has been the last stronghold of backlit LCD. Per-pixel illumination changes the grading decisions that are actually safe - shadow detail no longer depends on local dimming algorithms, blooming around subtitles disappears, and the black level a colourist trusts is the black the display can hold. QD-OLED adds the wide colour volume HDR pipelines expect. When the first OLED arrives under an established reference certification, OLED monitoring stops being an experiment and becomes a budget line.

The rest of the floor read as one theme: differentiation has moved to the edges around the IP core. AJA showed the FS8 and OG-FiDO-4 in their India debut after the global unveiling at IBC 2026, alongside BRIDGE LIVE for contribution and Ki Pro recording; LiveU fielded the LU900Q, LU800 PRO, LU300 and Solo Pro bonded-cellular encoders with its Studio and Actus cloud production tools; LaCie's 8big Pro5 put eight bays of enterprise storage behind Thunderbolt 5; HighSecLabs demonstrated media diodes, videobar and webcam diodes for rooms where audio, video and USB paths must stay physically isolated; and VuWall covered video-wall management for mission-critical control rooms. Converters, diodes, storage and wall software - the unglamorous hardware that keeps IP facilities running.

Amtune builds that edge for facilities that mix broadcast and AV. Signal converters and switchers bridge mixed-format inputs, the multi-viewer line feeds monitoring walls, and AES67 modular audio connects control-room monitoring to the AoIP core. OEM and integration enquiries: sales@amtune.com.
