Prolight Sound Bangkok Debut Signals SEA Pro AV Growth

Prolight + Sound Bangkok held its debut edition 30 September to 2 October at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, bringing Messe Frankfurt's professional AV, lighting and entertainment technology brand to Thailand for the first time. The organisers projected more than 150 international exhibitors and over 5,000 trade visitors, with participants from eleven countries and regions including France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, mainland China, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

The exhibitor list maps the regional demand: lighting and rigging brands such as ACME and ETC, installed and touring sound from HK Audio, connection hardware from Neutrik, and a dedicated Singapore Pavilion organised by AVLIAS with MA Lighting, Robe and other Singapore-based players. The programme went beyond booths - a three-day masterclass series with the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute covered sound engineering, acoustic design and live production, while AVLIAS convened a Future of the ASEAN Pro AVL session on regional business and cross-border collaboration, alongside sessions on AI, immersive experiences and smart AV integration.

The show is a response to a structural shift. Southeast Asia's concerts, events, hospitality, MICE and tourism sectors are scaling faster than their regional service bases, and buyers increasingly want distributors and technicians within the region rather than fly-in crews for every show. For manufacturers this means the sale is no longer complete at shipment: spares depth, local service partners, and hardware that a regional technician can diagnose and repair without factory support all become selection criteria. For system integrators, the ASEAN session's cross-border collaboration theme reflects projects - arenas, theme parks, hotel groups - that span several countries and one standard.

Amtune manufactures in Shenzhen, one customs zone away from this market. Seamless hybrid matrices, HDBaseT extenders, AV over IP decoders and Dante modular audio are built for exactly the installed and rental estates the region is adding. Distributor and project enquiries: sales@amtune.com.
