Livestream commerce has quietly produced one of the most demanding small AV rooms in any building. A product studio streams eight to twelve hours a day, rotates hosts and products on a fixed schedule, takes remote guests onto the show, and is staffed by an operator whose real job is selling - not signal flow. When the chain breaks, revenue stops at that second, so the architecture has to be boring in the best sense: predictable inputs, one-button scenes and no mid-stream renegotiation.

A practical chain looks like this. Two to four HDMI cameras feed a switcher or small matrix whose every input has a locked EDID profile, so cameras can be replaced between shows without the stream renegotiating. A multi-viewer gives the control corner a fixed confidence layout - cameras, return feed, timer and chat overlay - while a converter hands the programme feed to the streaming PC as clean USB video. Remote guests and supplier demo feeds arrive as IP streams through AV over IP decoders into spare matrix inputs, which keeps the contribution path separate from the local cameras instead of fighting over one capture card.

Audio is where DIY studios fail first. Putting the mixer, the streaming PC and the room speakers on Dante or AES67 modular audio gives the host a broadcast-grade path that does not depend on USB enumeration order, keeps the return feed and the room mix as separate channels, and lets a technician patch a replacement PC into the network in minutes. The thermal reality of small racks running all day argues for the same discipline: one stream per device, documented cable maps, and a hot spare decoder and converter configured and labelled on the shelf.
