InfoComm América Latina opens today at the World Trade Center in Mexico City and runs until 23 October. It is only the second edition, which makes the scale the story: the floor is roughly double the 2025 launch, with on the order of 120 to 150 exhibiting companies, and visitors drawn from Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Argentina. AVIXA has built more than fifty sessions by ninety international experts across six thematic areas, including an in-person AVIXA Congress, a HETMA higher education summit, a talent track called AVanza, and the CTS exam running on all three show days. AVI-SPL is headline partner, Audio-Technica is gold partner, and a new immersive space called Pulse takes over the Palenque room to show audio, video, lighting and content working as one system.
The product news maps onto what the region is buying. Audio-Technica is giving its D50 digital UHF wireless system a Latin American premiere for hotels, corporate rooms and sound reinforcement, and is running a live link to its US team to demonstrate the ATND1061 ceiling array with on-board DSP, up to thirty-two steerable pickup zones and Dante, Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and Crestron compatibility. ELO is showing touch displays from seven to sixty-five inches with self-service kiosks and an AI assistant demo. Sony and NoviSign share a booth to show signage running natively on Pro BRAVIA displays with no separate media player. The AI Summit on 22 October puts Citibanamex, XTEN-AV, Grupo Niza and Cisco on one panel to discuss what survived implementation rather than what looked good in a pitch. Read together, the emphasis is on fewer boxes, less integration work and remote management.
The practical conditions of a Latin American installation differ from a northern European one, and they change what belongs in a specification. Mains quality comes first: nominal 127 volts across much of Mexico and 127 or 220 in Brazil, with sag and surges that a switch-mode supply has to absorb without rebooting a matrix mid-presentation. Climate comes second: coastal humidity, dust, and in pool and spa areas chlorinated air that attacks connectors and fans. Service distance comes third, and is the one most often ignored. A rack that needs a specialist flown in for a firmware recovery stays broken for a week, so push-button recovery, a documented factory reset, spare ports and spare power supplies matter more than another feature.
That is roughly how Amtune's export business is structured: fixed-function routing and transport, built to be understood from a printed manual. Seamless hybrid matrix switchers for rooms that cannot show a black frame, HDBaseT and AV extenders for the long copper runs most retrofits actually have, signal converters for the mixed HDMI, DVI, VGA and SDI sources that turn up in the same room, and Dante and AES67 audio interfaces where audio has to travel independently of video. Units are built under an ISO 9001 quality system and tested to CE, FCC and RoHS. Distributor and project enquiries for the region at sales@amtune.com.
