AM-C802 — 7.2 Channel Home Theater Decoder with Karaoke Engine

The AM-C802 is a 7.2 channel cinema decoder that combines a 4K HDMI video board, a dual DSP high–definition audio decoding board and a 9 channel balanced karaoke interface in one 435 x 270 x 105 mm chassis. It decodes Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio into seven main channels plus two independent subwoofer outputs, and delivers them on nine XLR connectors straight to a power amplifier — no AV receiver, no separate processor and no extra breakout box in the signal chain.

A karaoke processor can return into the same chassis through nine balanced XLR karaoke inputs, so a cinema room and a KTV room share one decoder and one loudspeaker system. The front panel OK/MODE key switches the unit between cinema input and karaoke input, and the music volume stays independent from the microphone path.

Front Panel

1. USB — plays MP3 and lossless audio files directly from a USB drive

6. MENU — opens channel trim and delay settings; turn the volume knob to adjust the selected parameter

Karaoke Section

The nine balanced karaoke inputs accept the output of a dedicated karaoke processor or mixer and feed the same seven main channels and two subwoofer channels as the film decoder. Because the return path is balanced XLR, a KTV room can run long cable lengths from the rack to the stage without picking up hum. The OK/MODE key on the front panel and the MODE+ key on the remote select the karaoke input, so the operator can move between film and song without touching the cabling.

Speaker Setup

Read the speaker manuals before connecting the speakers, and position them correctly — speaker placement is essential for surround playback.

• Front left / right — create the main sound field
• Centre — anchors dialogue and creates a stable front image
• Surround left / right — add three dimensional movement and ambience; required for Dolby Digital and DTS playback
• Surround back left / right — complete the 7.2 layout behind the listener
• Subwoofer 1 / 2 — deep, powerful bass; two independent outputs for dual subwoofer rooms

Surround speakers can be wall mounted at ear level or 60-90 cm above it. Fix the screw into the wall so that screw and wall support 20 kg, leave 4 mm between the screw head and the wall, then hang the speaker by its rear slot. Use speaker cable of the correct specification, strip about 4 mm of insulation, twist the bare strands tightly and check the signal flow direction before terminating — never short the positive and negative leads.

Control and Presets

The IR remote recalls six presets (GAM-1, KTV-2, MUS-3, MV-4, DJ-5, USER-6). Hold a preset key for 3 seconds and the panel shows "save*" to store the current setup — useful when one room is used for film, sport, music and karaoke at different times of the day. Dedicated keys adjust master music volume, subwoofer level, L/R treble and bass, centre channel level, and start a channel identification noise for level setting. RS-232 allows the same operations from a touch panel or a room controller.
