Amtune Matrices And HDBaseT For Divisible Rooms

One of the most common commercial AV briefs is also one of the most demanding: two neighbouring rooms that must operate independently for everyday meetings and become a single larger space for training, town halls and events. A recent workplace deployment in India shows the moving parts. An identity-security company in Pune needed exactly that behaviour, so its integrator combined a 6 by 6 matrix switcher for routing multiple video sources, wall plates offering USB-C and HDMI for laptops, HDBaseT transmitters and receivers to carry 4K60 video and control over structured cabling, dual DSP units with acoustic echo cancellation and automatic microphone mixing, and a single controller that coordinates video, audio, USB and the room-combine function. A wall panel or a tablet selects Room One, Room Two or Combined, and the system does the rest.

The engineering that makes this reliable is mostly about discipline rather than novelty. Size the matrix against zones rather than total screen count, and use mirrored outputs where several displays always show the same content. Extend to each display with an HDBaseT link so that video, audio, control and power travel over one dedicated cable with a fixed low latency, which keeps the room independent of the building data network. Keep audio zoning separate from video routing, because a combined room wants one source while the two halves may need different levels. Share USB peripherals between the rooms so cameras and microphones follow the configuration instead of being reconnected by hand. Finally, choose a control surface a non-technical user can operate without training, and leave the integrator a remote management path.

Amtune supplies the hardware this pattern needs as a matched family, which matters because a divisible-room design is only as strong as the weakest link in the chain. The HD video seamless hybrid matrix range provides the head end for multi-source routing and combine and divide presets, while AV switchers cover the smaller half-room where automatic input selection is enough. The AV extender range carries 4K video, audio and control over category cable to each display, HD video multi-viewers put several feeds on one screen for monitoring or overflow, and the seamless hybrid matrix multiview processor handles layouts where both modes must coexist. Audio distribution is handled by Dante and AES67 networked audio modules when the room audio moves onto the network.

Because a divisible room has to be commissioned properly the first time, Amtune builds in the details that reduce callbacks: zero-gap switching, fixed latency on extension links, power over the HDBaseT link so no local supply is needed behind a display, and firmware designed for long support. All products are manufactured under an ISO 9001 quality system and tested to CE, FCC and RoHS standards.
