A casino floor is the only AV environment that combines a 24-hour audience with a regulatory audience. Gaming positions, sportsbook walls, restaurant and bar screens, hotel lobby displays, wayfinding and the surveillance estate all run continuously, and the property is never closed for maintenance. A dark screen on a sportsbook wall is not an inconvenience; it is a guest complaint, a lost wager and, depending on jurisdiction, a matter for the regulator. That duty cycle, rather than resolution, is what shapes the design.
The sportsbook is the most demanding zone because it is a single canvas fed by many sources. Odds and pricing arrive from media players or PCs running the book's own software, broadcast feeds arrive from satellite or IP, and the property's own produced content fills the gaps between events. A seamless hybrid matrix with multiview processing belongs at the head end, so the wall can be reconfigured from a preset when the schedule changes rather than from a laptop during a timeout. Three details separate a wall that behaves from one that does not: every output has its own scaler and its own locked EDID profile, because the tiles are rarely identical; the wall is built as one canvas with frame-synchronised outputs, because a torn image across nine tiles is more noticeable than a marginally softer one; and the odds feed is treated as a critical source with a defined fallback, not as just another input.
Gaming floor and back-of-house displays are a different problem with a simpler answer. Wayfinding, progressive jackpot signage, promotional screens and staff-facing boards rarely need to switch live, so point-to-point HDBaseT runs with local power at the display are the cheapest reliable option, and AV over IP decoders earn their place only where the property genuinely needs to repoint content across zones without touching cable. Audio follows the same zoning logic: background music, promotional messaging and paging on Dante and AES67 zones, with paging priority enforced in the DSP rather than by whoever holds the microphone, and constant-voltage distribution to the loudspeaker runs that cross the floor.
Reliability has to be designed as a set of rules rather than hoped for. Nothing reboots during operating hours without an explicit maintenance mode; every critical path has a hot spare decoder or a spare matrix input; power supplies are redundant where a single failure would take a wall down; and remote monitoring reports device state so that a failure is found before a guest reports it. Change control matters too, because in a regulated property the difference between a content update and a system change has to be written down. Amtune manufactures the matrix, extender, decoder and multiviewer layer for continuous-duty installations under an ISO 9001 quality system with CE, FCC and RoHS compliance.
