AI Room Systems Shift Compute Into The Meeting Bar

The largest enterprise launch in Logitech's history landed on 8 October 2026 and it was aimed squarely at the meeting room. The headline product, Rally Bar 2, replaces the video bar that has dominated medium and large rooms since 2023 and moves a good deal more processing onto the bar itself. A new Qualcomm chipset delivers up to four times the edge AI processing power of comparable video bars, according to the company, paired with a custom lens and a one inch sensor for low-light rooms. RightSound 3 handles the audio, embedded sensors detect when people walk in and can trigger booking, and the device ships certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and Google Meet. It is built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, which brings enterprise security requirements into the endpoint rather than leaving them to the room PC, and lists at 4,299 US dollars.

The more interesting announcement is the one aimed at the rooms that cause the most support tickets. Rally System 2 Pro is a modular system for large, multi-purpose and divisible spaces, combining RoomMate 2 Pro compute, a Rally AI Camera Pro, mics and the new Rally Speaker 2 over IP so that cameras, displays, speakers and microphones can be scaled and rearranged as the room changes. Alongside it, Sound Shape audio technology in the Rally Speaker 2 Pro and Rally Speaker 2 Max uses focused acoustic beams to steer sound at listeners across a space up to twenty metres long, a job that previously called for a costly ceiling loudspeaker array. Delivering even coverage from the front of the room to the back is exactly the problem that makes large boardrooms and training rooms expensive, so an approach that reduces the loudspeaker count is worth watching.

Three implications follow for anyone specifying rooms in 2026. First, the endpoint is now the computer: AI framing, speaker identification, transcription and occupancy analytics all depend on sustained local processing, so power, network priority and thermal design at the display position matter more than they did. Second, room hardware needs a firmware and security lifecycle of its own, because enterprise certification now runs through the device platform rather than the PC alone. Third, the market is large enough to justify that investment: AVIXA's Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis places the global pro AV market above 330 billion US dollars in 2025, heading past 400 billion by 2030, and the ISE 2027 show in Barcelona from 2 to 5 February has already expanded its floor by seven per cent on the strength of it.

Whatever sits at the front of the room, the signal path behind it still has to be predictable. Amtune supplies the deterministic layer around an AI endpoint: HD video seamless hybrid matrices for zero-gap source switching, AV switchers for smaller rooms, AV extenders to carry 4K video, audio and control to each display over category cable, and AV-over-IP codecs and decoders where the campus is already networked. Every product is manufactured under an ISO 9001 quality system and tested to CE, FCC and RoHS standards. Integrators can request design support and sample units at sales@amtune.com.
