HDMI version 2.1 standard specification officially released

At the end of November last year, the HDMI 2.1 standard specification was officially released. After a whole year, we finally saw the HDMI 2.1 standard data cable for the first time. It was unexpectedly from Club3D. I believe that the first HDMI 2.1 TV is not far away.

 

The bandwidth of HDMI 2.1 has soared from HDMI 2.0b 18Gbps to 48Gbps, which can fully support lossless video with ultra-high resolution and refresh rate such as 4K@120Hz, 8K@100/120Hz, 10K@100/120Hz, and support dynamic HDR. For this new standard, a new Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable is used. HDMI 2.1 also supports eARC (Audio Return Channel), which allows home theaters to wirelessly connect to HDMI, AVR, and use the highest quality audio specifications.

 

For video, movies, games, HDMI 2.1 has added a number of enhanced refresh rate technology to ensure smooth and no-cart:

- Variable Refresh Rate (VRR): Used in games to reduce or eliminate picture delays, stutters, tears, and to make the game smoother and more detailed.

- Fast Media Switching (QMS): Used for movies and videos to eliminate the delay of white screens before content is displayed.

- Fast Frame Transfer (QFT): Reduces latency, the game has no stuck, and VR virtual reality can interact in real time.

Finally, Automatic Low Latency Mode (ALLM) allows automatic setting of optimal delay for smooth, no-stuck, uninterrupted viewing and interaction.
